Course deals with national and international protecion of freedom of speech (press, radio and television, new media). It is divided in two parts and has the main purpose to approche students to legislation, jurisprudence and administrative pracitives in this field.

Learning Objectives
Knowledge: Course has the purpose of approach students to legal regulation of freedom of expression and communication, both national and international regulation.
Capability: Students must have a basic practice in finding legal material (laws, judiciary decisions, articles) usefull to discuss legal problems concerning concrete exercise of freedom of expression and communication.
Competence: Students must have a basic knowledge of foundamental legal texts (constitutional and legislative) concerning protection of freedom of expression and communication.
Prerequisites
To have passed the following exsaminations:
Constitutional law (general); Private Law I; Constitutional law (special).
Teaching Methods
Ex cattedra lessons (40 hours).
Type of Assessment
Two written examinations (not compulsory), final oral examination.
Course program
Course deals with the protection of freedom of speech (press, radio and television, telecomunications) through an analyse of legislation, jurisprudence and administrative practices. Course is divided in two parts: the first part deals, in particular, with freedom of press and freedom of speech through radio and television; the second part deals with freedom of speech and communication through new media (with a specific reference to the U.E. regulation of electronical communications).
